Christina Traister joined the GMRI team in July 2012 as Donor Relations Manager. In this role, Christina works to broaden and deepen GMRI's network of individual supporters by connecting them to GMRI's mission through personal outreach and event management. Her work involves building relationships with donors to ensure GMRI has the resources in place to achieve ambitious program goals in the coming years.
Christina came to GMRI with more than 15 years of experience in fundraising at Bates College, where she played a variety of leadership roles in the Office of College Advancement, including Campaign Director and Director of Annual Giving. A Spanish major, Christina graduated from Bates College in 1994 and spent her junior year in Salamanca, Spain. She and her husband live north of Portland with their two daughters and have a deep appreciation for the state of Maine in particular, its natural beauty, unparalleled recreational opportunities, and down-to-earth people.
Christina is excited to help strengthen the financial capacity of an organization that makes such a difference in the lives of families, scientists, fishermen, and leaders who reside in the Gulf region.
