Natasha joined GMRI as a LabVenture Educator in August 2017 where she helps 5th and 6th grade students become research scientists and feel more connected to the Gulf of Maine watershed.
Natasha recieved her undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond in Virginia where she double majored in environmental studies and film studies. The fact that their mascot is the Spider was an added bonus to her studies. Prior to coming to GMRI, Natasha completed a year of service as an Americorps Member working in an elementary school in Baltimore MD, providing literacy education to K-3 students. Before that she was on the 4th grade education team at Arlington Echo Outdoor Environmental Education Center in Millersville, MD where she developed and facilitated curriculum-based, hands on environmental lessons and activities.
In her time between inspiring the the 5th and 6th grade students of Maine she enjoys biking, hiking, swimming, painting and going to the movie theater. Lucky for her she has also found herself in a good location to indulge in her love of donuts.
