Twenty Maine elementary, middle, and high school teachers came to the Gulf of Maine Research Institute in April for a Vital Signs professional development workshop. They were enthusiastically joined by three "Educator Leaders" who shared their experiences with Vital Signs. Participants collected and shared invasive species data, partnered with Portland Trails on a field mission, and explored how to support students in practicing hands-on science. They left equipped and excited to do Vital Signs investigations in their own communities and share their curiosity, experimentation, and reflection with students. Visit www.vitalsignsme.org.
