The Northeastern Regional Association of Coastal and Ocean Observing System (NERACOOS) launched a new data visualization tool this spring, making more than 11 years of Gulf of Maine climate data accessible through a single, online interface. The Ocean and Weather Climate Display, which was developed by GMRI and other NERACOOS partners, taps into weather and ocean condition data collected through the NERACOOS buoy network since 2001.

“This new interface enables comparisons between last year, last month, or even yesterday, to the average conditions from the past decade,” said Riley Young Morse, GMRI Ocean Data Products Program Manager. “The NERACOOS buoys have collected an astounding amount of information. This tool makes that data more accessible, useful, and understandable to scientists and the interested public.”
