Biography

John has been the Chief Scientific Officer of the Gulf of Maine Research Institute since September 2004. Prior to joining GMRI, John worked for nearly 30 years on marine fisheries research, stock assessment and fisheries management issues in New Zealand. He has been involved in a number of fisheries stock assessment and certification initiatives, as well as marine advisory bodies, both nationally and internationally. John has also served as an advisor to national governments in Argentina, Australia, and Canada on a range of fisheries research and management topics.
