Updated: Captain Frank Blair: Circumnavigating in the Southern Hemisphere

Apr23
Time:
5:30 pm to 7:30 pm

Please join us virtually for an evening presentation by special guest Captain Frank Blair, who will share his story: 13 Things I Learned Circumnavigating in the Southern Hemisphere

In 2005, Captain Blair built the 63-foot wooden schooner, Maggie B., and set sail (with an all-volunteer crew) on an incredible two-year journey. His book, The Schooner Maggie B., is about a great success: a sailor’s dream voyage well executed. Captain Blair will share tales of all the apprehensions and joys of the 38,000 nautical mile blue water passage.

About the Speaker

Captain Frank Blair served in the US Navy for five years as a fighter pilot flying single-seat fighters off of carriers in the Mediterranean and the Western Pacific. During his Navy career, he received five Air Medals for low-level reconnaissance over North Vietnam. Flying skills honed sailing skills: radio, navigation, meteorology and appreciation for Bernoulli's Principle. Captain Blair currently lives in Maine with new schooner, FARFARER, and serves on the Board of Directors for GMRI.
