Educator Workshop: Experience LabVenture!4 PM–6:45 PM | Gulf of Maine Research Institute | Public
Thousands of students from around the state experience the LabVenture program at GMRI each year. Come experience it as a student yourself!
Each year, GMRI hosts nearly 10,000 Maine middle schoolers in its LabVenture program — a hands-on, interactive, authentic investigation of the changing Gulf of Maine ecosystem. Completely free for Maine schools, nearly 70% of the state of Maine's fifth and sixth grade cohort experience LabVenture annually. At the lab, students use authentic tools of science and methods of inquiry to explore many of the same questions about the Gulf of Maine that research scientists at GMRI are addressing.
Come experience the program for yourself, going through the lab activities as students and having opportunities to talk with GMRI educators about the experience, related educational materials and climate science in the Gulf of Maine.
This workshop is open to any interested educators in both formal and informal learning spaces, regardless of the age of their students.
- This workshop is FREE
- Dinner will be provided
