This webinar will be held two times to accommodate participants from different time zones.

This invitation is for Option 2:

U.S. East Coast: October 11, 9:00-10:00am EDT (UTC -4 )

Madrid, Spain: Oct. 11, 15:00-16:00 CEST (UTC+2)

Fisheries Strategies for Changing Oceans and Resilient Ecosystems by 2030 (FishSCORE) will sustain fisheries as a global source of food and jobs, while protecting ocean ecosystem health and enhancing equitable benefits from fisheries. This United Nations Ocean Decade program will bring together scientists, resource managers, community practitioners, fishing sector participants and the wider fishing community, and policy and management experts to help transition marine fisheries towards climate resilience. It will support the co-development of efforts to assess vulnerabilities and resilience attributes, develop actionable adaptation options, and identify resilience-enhancing measures for fishery systems. The program will build partnerships to facilitate the sharing of information and experiences in different regions. In these ways, FishSCORE will help identify strategies that work in the real world to achieve healthy ecosystems, resilient fishery systems, and equitable benefits in the context of changing oceans.

What is the FishSCORE Network?

The FishSCORE Network is a forum for information exchange about climate resilience in marine fisheries through workshops, seminar series, and virtual meetings that will inform science-to-practice climate adaptation strategies. The Network will:

• Create opportunities to facilitate information exchange and learning about climate and fisheries,

• Support collaborative projects and partnerships to to assess and address climate impacts in specific marine fisheries, and

• Encourage the exchange and synthesis of results and local/regional experiences to scale lessons up to advance climate resilience in fisheries across the world’s oceans.

This Network will provide an opportunity to increase collaborative work and communication across geographies and disciplines to develop information and design frameworks for assessing and enhancing climate adaptation in local and regional marine fisheries.
