6 PM–7 PM | Online | PublicIn honor of global citizen science month, come learn about community science and how to get involved in projects collecting data near you!
Learn how you can contribute to community science projects and monitor environmental change in the Kennebec Estuary region!
Join the Gulf of Maine Research Institute, the Kennebec Estuary Land Trust, and the Woolwich Climate Resilience Committee to learn about community science projects you can join to contribute environmental data in your region. April is global citizen (community) science month, and this spring provides exciting opportunities to get outside and collect data that can meaningfully support local decision-making.
This webinar introduces a range of projects, including those hosted by GMRI through the Ecosystem Investigation Network, and by the Kennebec Estuary Land Trust, a partner organization that supports community engagement in collecting data. Projects shared will include bird monitoring, coastal flood documentation, alewife counts, phytoplankton identification, crab tracking, mussel bed mapping, ash tree inventorying, and more. Whether you’re a dedicated community scientist or looking for ways to get started, come celebrate community science with us and learn what’s going on in the Kennebec Estuary region!
