Educator Workshop: Coastal Flooding Data and Decision Making

Are you an educator interested in engaging youth in assessing the impacts of coastal flooding in your community and informing local action? Join us for a professional learning experience that includes educators, scientists, and local leaders all committed to supporting the next generation of decisionmakers. During this session, we will collect and analyze data on local flood impacts. This data will also be shared with the National Weather Service to improve flood forecasts and advisories in local communities. Then, we will explore resilience options using a game designed for students and community members and discuss opportunities for youth to contribute to local decisionmaking.

During this workshop, we will:

Participants will receive a $125 stipend, lunch, mileage reimbursements, and contact hours.
