How To Monitor Coastal Flooding Webinar

Become a community scientist by observing coastal flooding in your community!

Climate change and sea level rise are already driving our high tides higher, causing coastal floods up and down the shores of Maine. In November and December, we’ll see some of the highest predicted tides of the year. In order to adapt to rising tides, we need to increase our understanding of what local flood impacts look like in our communities. That’s where you come in!

Through this webinar, learn how to contribute observational data to the Gulf of Maine Research Institute’s Coastal Flooding Community Science Project. Throughout this high-water season and beyond, any observation you submit to the project will be used to inform near- and long- term emergency preparedness and climate decisions, bringing Maine closer to a climate-resilient and thriving future.
