David Oduro
Senior FP&A Analyst
David joined the Gulf of Maine Research Institute as Senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst in June 2025. In this role, David supports the Finance and Operations team by advancing budget forecasting, strategic modeling, and dashboard reporting across GMRI’s programmatic and administrative areas. He plays a key role in aligning financial planning with organizational priorities to strengthen operational resilience and decision-making.
Prior to joining GMRI, David worked as a Senior Associate in the Monitoring & Testing Quality Assurance (M&T QA) department at JPMorgan Chase, where he focused on compliance, control testing, and data-driven insights to improve risk management. He brings a unique blend of financial, analytical, and operational expertise from both nonprofit and corporate environments.
David holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Ghana and an MS in Business Analytics from the University of Delaware. Originally from West Africa, David grew up along the Gulf of Guinea, where he developed a deep appreciation for the importance of resilient coastal economies and climate-focused finance. He is passionate about contributing to work at GMRI that not only supports communities in the Gulf of Maine but also holds meaningful implications for similar regions around the world — including his own.
Outside of work, David enjoys playing drums and bass guitar, and he’s always up for a competitive game of ping pong.
