Cultural Storytelling
Fostering cross-generational learning and connection.
Through storytelling, language, and cultural exchange, this project supports Indigenous-led efforts to strengthen cultural knowledge and reconnect generations. Using immersive tools like the StarLab, communities are weaving traditional stories with modern tools to inspire the next generation.
Project Goals:
- Support intergenerational storytelling and language revitalization.
- Build immersive cultural learning experiences through schools and events.
- Promote the integration of Indigenous knowledge and western science.
- Share stories across borders and communities.
Storytelling is a powerful tool for cultural continuity, education, and resilience. This project supports storytelling in schools and community spaces, often using creative tools like the StarLab — a portable planetarium that brings star stories to life.
From seasonal events like eclipses to lessons about the land and sky, elders are guiding youth in reclaiming and revitalizing knowledge systems. These efforts also foster connections across tribal communities, including Canadian Passamaquoddy partners working to restore language and place-based identities.
