Authentic science inquiry in our lab, in the field, in the classroom

We step up to the challenge to ensure that students from every corner of Maine can participate in ecosystem research that exposes them to real science tools, practices, and role models.

Our work to support the next generation of climate-literate ecosystem stewards includes:

  • Increasing youth access to and participation in learning experiences that strengthen their climate and data literacy

  • Increasing the capacity of teachers, librarians, and formal educators to engage youth in data-rich authentic science learning experiences

  • Conducting regular learning science research to generate evidence-based best practices in STEM teaching and learning
