Abigail Long
Community Science Coordinator
Abigail joined GMRI in October 2022 as a Resilience Fellow through an AmeriCorps-funded program based at Greater Portland Council of Governments (GPCOG). The Resilience Corps aims to build climate resiliency in communities throughout the Greater Portland area through various sustainability-related projects. Abigail works in the Climate Center at GMRI to promote community science projects, engaging coastal communities in topics of coastal climate resilience.
She has since joined GMRI full-time as our Community Science Coordinator.
Abigail received her bachelor’s degrees from SUNY Binghamton in Biology and Environmental Science with a concentration in ecosystems. Her main interests include understanding the connection between humans and the environment and advancing accessible community-based sustainability and climate action.
Outside of work, Abigail enjoys hiking, cooking, and exploring the city of Portland!
