Maeve McGowan
Grants Coordinator
Maeve joined GMRI in November of 2021 as the Grants Coordinator. She uses her intimate understanding of Maine’s philanthropic landscape, built through a long background in nonprofit conservation, to cultivate and steward foundation and corporate support for many of GMRI’s programs.
Maeve received her bachelor’s degree from the University of New England where she studied environmental science and climate change studies. While at UNE, she conducted independent research on the impacts of climate change on migratory grassland birds and agriculture. Her life-long curiosity in climate impacts and solutions grew from a childhood of watching Maine’s coast change.
Growing up in a small, rural community in midcoast Maine, Maeve has always been passionate about uplifting the people, places, and ecosystems that characterize her home. When not at GMRI, she can be found running, hiking, birding, or baking a mean loaf of sourdough.
