Margaret Cummings

Margaret joined the GMRI staff in 2011 as an administrative coordinator for GMRI research and administrative teams and is now the Administrative Assistant. She has a background in community service, formerly employed in the California public schools and as a town manager in rural northern Maine.

Margaret enjoys the opportunity that a science-based academic environment provides, and is excited to be involved in the important endeavors of sustaining the Gulf of Maine and its fisheries, as well as preserving the rich heritage it represents to New England communities.

She is also keenly interested in the educational programs at GMRI and the goal to make Maine schools a model for science education by promoting innovative teaching and environmental curriculum.
