Sam's lifelong connection to Casco Bay and commitment to the conservation guided them to the Gulf of Maine Research Institute in December 2023. Sam brings a unique blend of creativity and technical precision to their information technology role.
Prior to joining GMRI, Sam earned a BA in Computer Music from Goucher College and an MS in Computer Science from Northeastern University’s Roux Institute. Sam spent a decade as a freelance full-stack developer and designer, serving blue-chip consumer brands in the aviation, entertainment, and eSports industries.
Sam is a classically trained multi-instrument musician, breakdancer, and pipe organ repair and tuning technician. Committed to community service and artistic pursuits, Sam volunteers with the South Portland-Cape Elizabeth Rotary Club to maintain the iconic Bug Light and serves as Organist at Hiram Lodge in South Portland.
