Stephanie Sun

Climate Engagement Specialist

Stephanie Sun joined GMRI as a Climate Engagement Specialist with the Climate Center in the Spring of 2023 working to provide coastal communities and blue economy businesses with the knowledge, tools, and confidence they need to build climate resilience.

After completing her undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies and History at Bowdoin College, Stephanie returned to her hometown of Hong Kong, where she developed courses on urban systems and sustainability.

Stephanie completed her master’s degree in Urban and Environmental Planning at Tufts University in 2023 and wrote her thesis on social and environmental pressures on working waterfronts in Maine. Through her experiences, Stephanie has developed an appreciation for participatory planning methods that center community knowledge in addressing climate change impacts.
