She focused her studies on environmental education and justice and worked as a leader for elementary and middle school outdoor clubs. After graduation, she volunteered with Americorps at an elementary school in Denver, Colorado before returning to New England to work as the Environmental Science Education Fellow at Schoodic Institute in Acadia National Park. There, she guided Maine students along the rugged coastline of the Schoodic Peninsula, teaching about environmental science.
