GMRI Celebrates 100,000th LabVenture! Student
Announcements | Dec 31, 2015
On a chilly February morning, LabVenture celebrated its 100,000th child served — a major milestone for science literacy in Maine. For over a decade, students from all of Maine’s 16 counties have conducted their own hands-on research in our state-of-the-art learning laboratory.
The students of Winslow Junior High started their visit like any other school group that has come through our doors. Little did they know, this was no ordinary LabVenture visit. GMRI staff had a special surprise in store to celebrate the occasion. See what happened next in the brief video above.
When we launched LabVenture ten years ago, we dreamed of equal access to powerful science experiences for Maine’s kids, no matter how far they had to travel or whether their communities could afford to pay. Thanks to the commitment of our team, Maine’s teachers, and supporters who care deeply about education, we have delivered on this vision. We can’t wait to see what the next ten years will bring.
