Kyle Foley
Sustainable Seafood Director
Kyle Foley is the Director of the Gulf of Maine Research Institute’s Sustainable Seafood Program.
She leads the seafood team in its strategic efforts to strengthen both the ecological and economic sustainability of the Gulf of Maine seafood industry. Kyle and her team partner with seafood supply chain members, made up of processors, restaurants, institutions, and major retailers, to build demand for seafood from the Gulf of Maine region.
Prior to GMRI, Kyle worked for a range of organizations focused on regional food systems, including Farm Aid, the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources, and RSF Social Finance. She received her M.S. in food and agriculture policy from the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University where her research focused on shellfish regulations in Massachusetts, access to wholesale markets for small farmers in New England, and financing for food and agriculture enterprises. In addition, Kyle has her B.A. from Colby College and grew up in the Boston area.
